The team from Leeds Beckett University will be led by Dr. Sam Zulu, a chartered construction manager, with over 20 years of education and training, research, and enterprise experience. He will be supported by Professor Mohammed Dulaimi, a senior academic and industrialist with extensive research experience in project management, innovation management, and construction management, and Dr. Saheed Ajayi, a chartered construction manager with research expertise in BIM, employability, and the use of digital technologies in Construction. LBU, through the Centre for Construction Knowledge Exchange (CKE) actively engages with the construction industry. For example, the CKE is home to thinkBIM, the official Yorkshire and Humber hub of the BIM Alliance for helping to spread awareness and promote adoption of BIM and digital transformation across the sector.
Northumbria University is a research-rich, business-focused, professional university with a global reputation for academic excellence and is at the forefront of research into building information modelling, digital construction, and the creation and use of digital twins of built assets in smart cities. Northumbria’s joint-venture partnership, BIM Academy was the winner of the 2017 Times Higher Education Award for ‘Most Innovative Contribution to Business–University Collaboration’ and offers unparalleled access to current real-world issues in the digital transformation of the construction sector. Northumbria University is the academic lead organisation in the anticipated £40m International Centre for Connected Construction (IC3). Professor David Greenwood who is Professor of Construction Project Management in the Faculty of Engineering and Environment, Northumbria University, UK will contribute to the project. He is co-founder and director of BIM Academy an industry-academia joint venture spin-out company that won the 2017 Times Higher Award for Most Innovative Contribution to Business-University Collaboration. The Northumbria University team will also include Dr Barry Gledson a senior lecturer and Programme Leader on the MSc (Construction) Project Management Framework.
The White Frog team is a group of consultants and recognised experts-in-practice who are pushing the boundaries of digital technology adoption from a customer perspective. White Frog’s training template will be the basis for developing digital leadership training material for this project. The techniques and methodologies discussed within the modular professional training programme are constantly adapted and updated to keep pace with the latest developments in the software and ever-evolving best practice from the workplace, with advice, often devised and revised in the process of working alongside some of the largest design and construction companies in the world. Both Directors, Peter Routledge and Paul Woddy will contribute to the project. Collectively they have co-authored thirteen books related to BIM technology, and process management, as well as developing numerous award-winning BIM training programmes, winning the Best International BIM training award RICS in 2016. They are currently members of the British Standards Institute B/555 Construction design, modeling and data exchange committee, members of BIM4SME (enabling BIM into small-medium enterprises), members of the BIM Academic Forum (universities exploring BIM requirements in curricula), National External Auditors on the BIM Manger program of the China National Centre for BIM Skills and Qualifications, National advisors/trainers to the Ethiopian Government (ECPMI) BIM group, advisors to the BIM Institute South Africa and vice-chair of the AEC (UK) BIM protocols committee.
The (DLPTF) exists to support National Dry Lining & Plastering Companies (including walls, floors, ceilings insulation & steel frame system organizations). Its aim is to identify individual company needs, seek to understand, facilitate & deliver a quality bespoke service for interior fit sector specialists. Established in 2012 as a not-for-profit body & funded through annual membership fees. The DLPTF is supported by the CITB and the FIS.
The Horbury Group is an established group of integrated construction-based companies operating throughout mainland UK, providing construction solutions to developers, building owners, and main contractors. Its services include drylining and partitioning, joinery, suspended ceilings, flooring, and SFS.
